Guitars

Good Student Guitars

We’ve just stopped carrying guitars. I still recommend starting with nylon strings because they are so easy to play and don’t hurt your fingers as much. At the Worship Guitar Class web site, we put up a page with recommendations of good student level guitars.

You can spend thousands of dollars for a guitar, but it’s a good idea to start with a decent student guitar first. There are three good reasons. First, you can find out if playing the guitar is something you want to pursue and if it isn’t, you haven’t spent too much money finding out. Second, if you do get very involved with playing and want a better instrument, you can use the student guitar for camping trips, traveling, or the beach. Third, When you can play better, you’ll know what kind of guitar is best for your to buy of the higher end models.

Check out our recommendations for Good Student Guitars.

Thanksgiving Story

By Jean 6 Comments

At our church, there was always an open mike at our Thanksgiving services. One year, my friend Ed Hale shared an amazing story. Ed was a policeman then and told us that a highway patrolman had quite an unusual experience.

Ed’s friend was on duty one night and gave a ticket to a speeding driver. When he went to the car, he sensed something evil. He told Ed that as he walked towards the car, the hairs on back of his neck stood up. [Read more…]

A Kind Spirit

Kindness – A Fruit Of The Spirit

I love God stories and love sharing them. This is one from a Pastor we know, in a country that persecutes Christians. He told us about one of his church members that had gone to jail for her faith. Although there wasn’t much food, she would always share it with the other prisoners. They could not break her kind spirit.

When she was released, a policeman was assigned to follow her. After following her for an entire year, he became a Christian too!

He told her that he had seen her kindness in prison and that he had been watching her for a year and had never met anyone with such a wonderful kind spirit. Then he asked her to marry him!

Surprised, this woman asked our friend, her pastor, what she should do. They did get married and are now serving the Lord together! Kindness is one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit.

Walk in KINDNESS today. It’s a wonderful fruit of the Spirit!

Beating Cancer

By Jean 1 Comment

One of the Worship Guitar Class Newsletter Family Members emailed recently for prayer for her mother, who has cancer. I shared some resources from Sam Ericsson and thought you might like to hear about them too.

Sam, a Christian lawyer, had stage 4 cancer 11 years ago. The Doctors said he had 3 months to live. Instead of accepting their words, he chose to fight it. [Read more…]
