Fear of public speakingFear of Public Speaking? You are not alone. The fear of public speaking is the most dreaded fear people have. There are many reasons people that have this fear. Some people are naturally more shy than others. People are afraid they won’t know what to say or it may not come out right. They don’t want to look bad in front of others.

Irreducible Complexity of our Eyes

By Jean 2 Comments

Irreducible Complexity Of Our Eyes

One of the reasons it’s easy to see the existence of our Creator God is because of the irreducible complexity seen in cells, like the ones in our eyes. There is no such thing as a ‘simple cell.’ I watched a DVD last year that showed through the intense microscopes scientists have discovered that even the smallest cells are incredible complex.

Look at just the eye. There are 127 million rods and cones in each eye. To see, light passes through the lens and hits the retina. Then it is changed by light-sensitive cells into images that the brain can interpret. This all happens in an instant.

The evolutionary theory claims that the eye gradually developed over time. But to see, all of the parts of the eye had to be there from the beginning…. the iris, pupil, cornea, lens, muscles, rods, cones, with the nerves and brain. Can you guess what the odds would have to be for such a complex organ to have ‘accidentally’ formed?

I remember a preacher once talking about how a watch was made. If you took all the pieces of a watch in your pockets, how long would you need to shake them in your pocket for the watch to be formed. Without direction things tend toward chaos. There is a watch when a watchmaker meticulously assembles the pieces together. There is an eye when the Creator meticulously created man in His image.

On either end of the spectrum is firm evidence of an intelligent creator. In another article on this site, you can find an amazing video of Lou Giglio describing the greatness of God through the greatness of the Universe and greatness of our DNA. It’s the How Great Is Our God video. It will change the way you pray and think about God.

He is HUGE and He is Personal! My Newsletters always end with ‘Worship Him with all of your heart because He loves you with all of His. God exists and He is good!

A Worship Song – My Lord

By Jean 2 Comments

This is one of the first worship songs I wrote. The movie below was taped for a Christian Cable Show years ago called ‘The Lou Lollio Show.’ Lou is featured in our Worship Guitar Class Volume Two program. He and Jeanne have been dear friends for many years. Jeanne just gave me a DVD of the show we had taped and I thought I would share it with you. I believe this was the 2nd worship song that I wrote.

This was originally aired on cable TV and I’m not sure why some of the video is a bit shaky.

Crafted Prayers

By Jean 1 Comment

Have you heard of ‘crafted prayers’? There is a book written by Graham Cooke about how to pray what’s on God’s heart. One of the ladies in my prayer group brought this book to our attention a few years ago. Last week a very good friend was diagnosed with cancer and a group of us got together last night to pray for him. We started with worship music and reflecting how Glorious God is. After a few songs, we sat in silence, listening to what God wanted to put on our hearts.

After  an extended time of silence, everyone shared specific words, images, and verses they sensed. We each had a sheet of paper to write down what we sensed God was telling us. Several people got the same verses to share and you could see specific themes emerge through the group. One of the themes was how much God loves our friend. All you need to do is to look at the cross to understand the depth of God’s love for each one of us!

After everyone shared, we then went into a wonderful time of prayer praying back the specific themes and details already shared from the group. It was such a sweet time of fellowship and prayer!
