Attributes of God in a Song

Every day I’m struck with awe at God’s hand in creation. Even this morning, walking in the neighborhood, I saw a woman with a standard size white poodle and started thinking of all the variety of dogs He has made!

Years ago, we had a toy poodle. A toy is the smallest variety of poodle. We got him as a puppy and he used to fit in my coat pocket. So cute.

How about horses? Each type of animal God has created is filled with variety and beauty!

I’m going to be hosting another worship song contest in September. The theme this year is expressing attributes of God. It can be about what He has created, how immense is His Love, how wonderful His grace or anything that focuses on God. It can be either to Him or about Him. [Read more…]

Christian Guitar Practice – Pray First

The exciting difference between just practicing the guitar and using it as a tool for worshipping an Awesome God is that our purpose and focus shifts.

It’s no longer just you learning to play the guitar. When you as God to help you, He can give you insights and help. You can use the guitar as a tool to worship Him. It helps to continue to ask Him for His help whenever you’re playing the instrument.

In my guitar studio there were countless times when a student was having difficulties and I just said, ‘"Help him Lord.’" They always immediately played better. Then I’d always say ‘"Thank you Lord."

Laminin – It Holds Us Together

GiglioGod is so AWESOME. I saw this video last night and it’s amazing how He glues us together with a substance that even looks like a cross. I hope you enjoy watching this video as much as I did! It’s a sermon by Louie Giglio. God loves us so much, and it worthy of all of our worship.

The video is titled ‘How Great Is Our God’. You’ll see why it’s called that as the video unfolds! Louie tries to help us get our head around how massive the universe is. Then he dials down to how wonderfully we are made. The conclusion is that God has a better plan for our lives than we could make up for ourselves. Plus, God is with us every day in every detail of our lives.

Guitar Scales You Can Play

A wonderful way to improve your playing is by practicing scales. This is a video that will show you how to play a couple ‘C’ scales. The first if just one octave. Everyone can start with this one. When you can play it with ease, try the second scale with two octaves. If you would like to follow along with the music, it’s here.
