A wonderful way to improve your playing is by practicing scales. This is a video that will show you how to play a couple ‘C’ scales. The first if just one octave. Everyone can start with this one. When you can play it with ease, try the second scale with two octaves. If you would like to follow along with the music, it’s here.
Enjoy the video…

Dear Jean,
I enjoy learning from you. I am having a problem learning the scale from watching the video only. Is there a print out I can down load to look at while I practice?
May the Lord bless you more.
The music is in the article above the video. I agree with you, it’s so much easier to see and play with the music there.
God Bless,
Jean
The video only plays intermittently, starts then stops, then pauses for 30 seconds then starts, is the problem from my side?
Lynda, I just tried it and there were no problems. It may be your Internet connection speed. You could also try refreshing the browser?
Blessings,
Jean
Very cool, I use the “Segovia” fingerings with my guitar students as well. They are great for the fingers, and later we work on the theory behind scale construction.
