For Cat Lovers – a New Devotional Book

For those of you who love to read, there’s a new book out by my good friends Dottie Adams and Marion Wells, with their friend Connie Fleishauer.

It’s called Purr-ables from Heaven, Devotions for Cat Lovers.

On Page 71, Dottie talks about her friend Jean, a songwriter, worship leader and guitar teacher. I’m the Jean, it’s me.

Dottie is a teaching director for a Community Bible Study class. I was her worship leader for many years. You can listen to some of her teaching at DottieAdams.com.

Dottie, Marion and Connie are all wonderful writers and this book will encourage you in your walk with Christ. I highly recommend their new book. If you love cats and love to read… you’ll especially adore this book.

Lou Lollio wins award in the UK

Many of you saw Lou Lollio on my Worship Guitar Class DVD Volume 2. He joined me in one of the lessons. Lou and Jeanne told me, at a recent worship party, that Lou has won the ‘Artist of the Year’ ‘Male Rock Vocalist’ given by New Christian Music UK.

Lou and Jeanne will be flying to the UK to participate in the various events. The NCM Weekend will take place on March 1 and 2 of 2008 in Bedfordshire, England. Tickets and information are available here. Looks like it’ll be a couple days filled with worship from various talented artists.

Guitar Ministry

King David didn’t play the guitar, but if he had one I bet he would have written some beautiful worship songs with it!

Carlton and Sharon Jones are helping modern day ‘Davids’ acquire guitars in obscure places around the world. They started a ministry that gives guitars to missionaries – guitarministries.com.

They have been hosting a number of awesome guitar concerts in Baton Rouge, LA and using the profits to buy guitars to give to missionaries. They also own a guitar store in Baton Rouge – guitardreamers.com.

Fear Not!

Why does Jesus keep telling us to “Fear Not?” He tells us because we need to hear it. We have pretty amazing minds that can create vivid pictures of whatever we focus on.

If you watch and listen to the news, most of what we see or hear is pretty dismal. There are wars, famines, fires and threats of all sorts.

We have real enemies who would love to destroy us. We think our enemies are terrorist groups or specific people, but if you pull the veil back, it’s orchestrated by demonic powers.
