Plek Station at Westwood Music

By Jean

I recently talked to Fred Walecki, the owner of Westwood Music, and he showed me an incredible machine that can dress your frets with perfect precision. They have a Plek Machine in the store. I played some of the guitars that had been adjusted by the machine and actually purchased one too.

This fixes your current guitar so it has a low action with no buzzes and plays perfectly in tune. Fred told me it works with both steel string and classical guitars. His store, Westwood Music is on Westwood Blvd. in West Los Angeles.

You can read more about this machine at their website,
http://www.westwoodmusic.com/plek.html

If you are any where near LA, I recommend bringing your guitar in to have this machine adjust and fix it. It will be easier to play and be in tune too. Tell him I sent you. He’s also a wonderful brother in Christ.

Guitar Scales You Can Play

By Jean 5 Comments

A wonderful way to improve your playing is by practicing scales. This is a video that will show you how to play a couple ‘C’ scales. The first if just one octave. Everyone can start with this one. When you can play it with ease, try the second scale with two octaves. If you would like to follow along with the music, it’s here.

Enjoy the video…

Amazing Grace – Arrangements for you

By Jean 3 Comments

In deep gratitude John Newton wrote ‘Amazing Grace’ over 200 years ago. Ex-slave trader turned preacher, John knew first hand God’s amazing grace!

Later, John Rees wrote the last verse, which is my favorite verse:

When we’ve been there ten thousand years bright shining as the sun. There’s no less days to sing God’s praise than when we first begun.

I’ve made a video for you with 3 arrangements of ‘Amazing Grace.’ Quite a few little kids are using my kids guitar lessons program and I didn’t want to leave them out. The first arrangement is super simple for kids to play.

Here is the music for the arrangements of Amazing Grace. Below is the video.
