Christians have been celebrating Resurrection Sunday for a couple thousand years. In the Scriptures it says to sing to Him a new song. Here are 7 newer songs that speak of and celebrate what Christ has done for us on the Cross!

This is a beautiful new Easter song by Joel Houston and Chris Davenport. It’s a new Hillsong Worship song.  

2. I Will Rise

Because of the Resurrection of Christ, we will also rise one day to be with Him! This is a wonderful song by Chris Tomlin. He wrote a few years ago and I sang it at a memorial service. 

3. How Can It Be

This is a newer song by Lauren Daigle. It begins with the hopelessness of knowing our sins, but yet Christ breaks our chains and sets us free. This is certainly the message behind Easter! We are free in Him.

4. This Is Amazing Grace

Phil Wickham wrote this song this song a few years ago. God’s amazing grace is that God laid down His life to set us free.

5. Because He Lives (Amen)

This song by Matt Maher is a new song with the title of a very familiar hymn ‘Because He Lives’. There are hints of the original hymn in the song, but it’s fresh with new words and a modern beat. It’s a joyful song that speaks of our victory in Christ.

6. Forever (Live)

This sweet song by Kari Jobe speaks of the cross and how the stone was rolled away. The Resurrected King is forever risen and is alive.

7. At The Cross (Love Ran Red)

This is another newer song by Chris Tomlin that speaks of the cross. We owe it all to Him, the Savior of the world!
