In the 5th Century Patrick was kidnapped from his home in Great Britain. He was a slave in Ireland for 6 years. He was born into a Christian family, but experienced a closer relationship to God in Ireland. He escaped and later became came back to preach Christ to the Irish pagans.
He used the shamrock to explain the trinity… Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. In fact, St. Patricks day was originally a religious holiday in Ireland celebrating the day that St. Patrick brought the gospel to them!
In celebration of the original reason for this day, here is a beautiful worship song from Ireland. Thank you God!!!
Thank you for sharing this. It is always great to go back to the Christian roots.
