Welcome to the First Edition of the Worship Guitar Class Blog! This offers
an easy format for getting web pages up plus an opportunity for you to respond…
including to other guitar students. For those unfamiliar with a ‘Blog,’
after
each entry you can click the ‘comments’ button at the end of the article to
write
a response to either the article itself, or to one of the responses from others.
The first entry here is a song I recently wrote. First, I hope you enjoy the
song and second maybe you can help me pick a name for it. This new song is
one I’d like to include in Volume Four and
I just
couldn’t decide what to call it. First I was thinking ‘Lord use my
voice’ and then thought of ‘Instrument of Praise.’
Well, take a listen and let me know what you think.

Great song Jean! My first take at a name is as follows:
1. We’ll Worship You
2. Everything We Have
3. All That We Have
4. All We Have
I’ll listen to the song again for more inspiration.
God Bless!
Frank says
Lord use my voice, seems to be more appropriate for the title of your new song. It has a very uplifting ring to it. Bless you.
Jun Meneses says
Instrument of Praise as a title of that song is better
Steve Daniels says
Jean,
A song title doesn’t need to come from the first line of the lyrics. I think “Instrument of Praise” is already a title used in former Promise Keepers programs.
I think the title should reflect a more broader senxe of the song like “Lord, Use Me” or “Worship the God of Creation”.
Let the Lord guide you in prayer as you write; for the music, the lyrics, and the title.
I enjoyed listening to it. Don’t stop writing.
Steve
Larry Leppin says
Three titles, maybe
Lord, use me.
Lord use me as an instrument of praise.
Lord, play me.
Arturo Lopez says
Worship thee O Creator sounds like a good name for your song. It is beautiful.
Carly says
I could only hear the song in bits and pieces. It was very choppy which I believe was probably due to the download. I even tried to listen to it again, but it was just like the first time. It sounds like a very pretty song. I like “Insturments of Praise.” I also came up with “Lord Use Me” as a title. If you have any suggestions so I can hear the whole song together I would love to hear it that way.
Matt says
Lovely song, I think your ideas for a title fit well. The only other thought I had was “fruit of my lips”.
Thank you
Barry says
I thought of “Adore Him”, & “Lord of Creation”…

Shalom Aleichem Jean,
May G-d Bless you for this wonderful site.
The new song is beautiful. I like calling it ‘An Instrument of Praise’ for it is what we all long to be. The L-rd is Holy, Holy, Holy and it is astounding how Great He Is!
The more He reveals Himself to us through the Word and His personal lovingkindness, the more we want to serve Him and be like Him.
Thank you for being ‘An Instrument of Praise’ and for teaching us to be one too.
Psalm 98
In His Unfailing Love,
His bondservant,

Hi Jean,
I like the clean, uncluttered look of your blog and appreciate the use of lots of white space.
My choice from your two selections is “Instrument of Praise” as it can refer to both your voice and the guitar at the same time. If I was to choose one myself then perhaps “The Lord of all Creation” fits in well with what you have written.
Greetings from Australia,
Ian
Marianne Sweel says
Hi Jean-
I thought that was a really lovely song. I hope you get a chance to employ it perhaps in a church worship service. I thought a good title for the song could be: Lord, use me or Oh God, You Are The Lord. In any case God Bless You!
Marianne
Larry says
Beautiful song. My title suggestion is “Instument of Grace.”
Vera says
Compliments for the song. I like the name Instrument of Praise.

Jean,
I have listened to the song several times and as always I appreciate your worship songs and you have some good titles. As you asked here is my input. The heart of the song is to use our talents (hand, voice, song, eyes, feet) to glorify God, to be literally as you put it “Instruments of Praise” so this is a good title. You use “Lord use my Voice” so this too works, and you could actually focus on any title at the end of the song as it all ties together, depending on the title.
Besides talents you also bring in 3 other key points
1. Open my eyes so I can see what bring Glory to your Son
2. Worship Above all other things
3. Worship you with every tongue in every nation.
So some other suggestions might be:
1. Lord use me, to Praise you
2. Lord use me, to bring Glory
3. An Instrument of Praise to You
4. I am an instrument of praise in the nations
5. Above all other things
6. Open my Eyes
7. Every Tongue in every Nation
8. I sing my song before you
Lord use my voice to be an instrument of praise to you
I sing my songs before you
Worship and Adore you
Lord use my hands to bless your name in all that they create
I lift them now before you
Worship and Adore you
Oh God you are the Lord of all creation
We will Worship you with every tongue in every nation
Use these feet today, make them beautiful I pray
Walking close to you is all I want to do
Open my eyes today, Help them see in a special way
What needs to be done to bring glory to your son?
To bring glory to your son?
Oh God you are the Lord of all Creation
We’ll Worship you with every tongue in every nation
I focus my eyes on the highest prize
Lord Jesus now I see, that it’s you alone on the highest thrown
In my heart for eternity
I worship, I adore you above all other things
Above all other things, Oh God you are the Lord of all creation
We will worship you with every tongue in every nation
Lord use my voice to be an instrument of praise to you
Lord use my voice to be an instrument of praise to you

Martha says
I like ‘Instrument of Praise’ makes sense to me because we are created for His purpose, and that is to worship Him in spirit and thruth.
by the way, do you have any song books that includes strumming patterns?
Also, what is the best way to figure out strumming patterns for songs?
Kyle Shepherd says
Mrs. Welles, I’m glad that you have a blog now! I’m really excited and plan to read it routinely.
Rodney says
Hi Mrs. Welles,
How are you? I like the “Instrument of Praise” but I maybe you could title the song, (and a beautiful may say)”Instrument’s of Praise”. In your song you mention voice, hands, tongue, feet and eyes. Our whole body is an instrument of praise to the Jesus whether it be all together or indivigually. Lord, give Mrs. Welles wisdom for the right title for her song amen? Amen!
God bless,
Rodney
Del says
Lord of All
would be a good name for your song.
Del says
Great idea , I suppose , to use a blog but how do I view the capo video ?
Jean says
Hi Del,
I’m new to blogs. You should be able to see the video from the main page – jeanwelles.com. It’s make in flash, so if you don’t have the flash plugin you probably wont be able to view it. Flash is already on most computers. It’s made by Macromedia. Look for the flash player on macromedia.com.
If you have flash, you’ll see a box on the capo article. Put your mouse over the box and controls should appear. Just click the play button.
I did notice if you click on the article on the right side. The video doesn’t show up on the page. I need to figure out how to arrange it so you can see the video from that link too. Just bought a couple books on the software I’m using and hope to have these kinks worked out soon.
Hope this helps…
God Bless,
Jean

Thanks for all the feedback and suggestions! I’m leaning towards ‘Instrument of Praise.’ There are many songs with the same title so I don’t see that as a problem.
Thank you for all your kind words too!
Your sister in Christ,
Jean
Jeremy Moore says
Hey Jean, Jeremy here from Bradford. Thanks for the Blog sight cool! How about the song being an answer. Title: Why I was made.
Martha says
Thank you Jean for making this information available to all. I appreciate your hard work and continued dedication in answering to the needs of your students. I am now starting the 3rd DVD and have been amazed at the things I have learned from the previous two. I look forward to your 4th one also. As for your song…it is beautiful just like the others you have written and shared with us. I believe the title, “Instrument of Praise” reflects the thoughts you are conveying. Our creator created each one of us with the greatest instrument of all; our voice! He loves to hear us lift our voice in praise to Him.
Ps 150:6 “Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.”
God bless you as you continue to bless others with your music.
A very grateful student,
Martha
Rick Quinnett says
Jean, I think “Lord of All Creation” would be an excellent title for this song of worship.
