  • Delight Yourself In The Lord

Last weekend my Women's Bible Study attended a simulcast with Beth Moore. There were over 500 churches in 8 countries participating. Over 90,000 women were looking into the treasures in God's Word. He had given us such wonderful promises!

The particular study last weekend was on Psalm 37 and focused on Psalm 37:4. I've always loved this verse and see that God changes our desires to more more like His desires. He gives us the desire to worship Him and inspires people to write such beautiful worship songs! (Will be announcing the next Worship Contest soon.)

    Psalm 37:4 says:

Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Beth had a good visual for us to remember, using verses in Psalm 37. She suggested looking at your JAW if we weren't delighting in God. More on Delight Yourself In The Lord

  • Breathtaking Moments

Fall ColorsGod has created a beautiful place for us to live. I shared in a Newsletter one of the breathtaking moments I experienced backpacking. On an early morning walk, I saw a grove of trees with delicate round leaves. A soft breeze was making them shimmer and with the light of the morning sun, they sparkled and danced like shining silver dollars. I took my breath away!

  • Delightful Dolphins

God has His fingerprints all over this world. Here is a delightful video of dolphins creating and playing with bubble rings.

Years ago I was playing music at a wedding in a ship on the open seas. A school of dolphins were spotted in the distance. One of the wedding guests asked the captain to go out to them, but he relied that they would come to us because dolphins just loved ships.

  • Merry Christmas - 2008

Christmas Manger SceneWishing you all a very Merry Christmas. The birth of Christ was a unique time in history. Jesus emptied Himself to show us God's Love. Can you imagine the Creator of the Universe entering the human race as a fragile dependent baby! He is coming back, but the next time it's not going to be so discreet. No one will miss the second coming of Christ.

  • Ruth - Known by her Love

I just finished reading the book of Ruth again. What a wonderful woman! Ruth had such a commitment to Naomi, her mother-in-law. She was loyal, a hard worker and humble. At the end of the book, the woman of Bethlehem told Naomi:

“May he (the son of Ruth & Boaz) be to you a restorer of your old age, for your daughter-in-law, who loves you, and is better to you than seven sons, has born him.”

The whole town saw Ruth’s love and beautiful traits!

  • Guitar Ministry

King David didn't play the guitar, but if he had one I bet he would have written some beautiful worship songs with it!

Carlton and Sharon Jones are helping modern day 'Davids' acquire guitars in obscure places around the world. They started a ministry that gives guitars to missionaries - guitarministries.com.

  • Fear Not!

Why does Jesus keep telling us to “Fear Not?” He tells us because we need to hear it. We have pretty amazing minds that can create vivid pictures of whatever we focus on.

If you watch and listen to the news, most of what we see or hear is pretty dismal. There are wars, famines, fires and threats of all sorts.

We have real enemies who would love to destroy us. We think our enemies are terrorist groups or specific people, but if you pull the veil back, it’s orchestrated by demonic powers.

  • Jeff Leslie, an inspiration

Jeff submitted a song in the worship contest last summer. After his song was chosen for the website, I discovered he was a quadriplegic. He is such an inspiration! Here is what he wrote about his life and song:

"I have a music degree (BME voc/instr) and I played drums, guitar, pno, and bass until a diving accident that left me paralyzed from the shoulders down. Now I create music w/th the computer. The original version of my song was written before my accident. I always liked the melody but felt the lyrics needed help as I matured and became a better lyricist.

I did a lot of writing and recording from the time I began high school. Every year I'd record the songs I wrote that year. I began experimenting with multitrack recording in college but I didn't really come into my own as a serious songwriter until a couple of years after my accident when I met a writer from Nashville that tutored me for a couple of years.

I have music software where I have a blank score and I choose a note value from a selection of notes and drag it over with my mouse and place it on the staff. One by one, eventually I have a music score. I then designate each line or part to an instrument in my selection of sound modules, electric keyboard, drum machine or instruments circling me in my studio. These are all wired together to my computer in a process called MIDI (musical instrument digital interface).

  • Isaac King: A Life Dedicated to Jesus

    July 15, 1986–September 4, 2006

Isaac King Isaac Dale King was born July 15, 1986, in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. He was the oldest of six children born to Dale and Karen King. Isaac died in a tragic car accident in September. Three of his closest friends—Aaron Davis, Stevo Dillon, and Sarah Foster—died with him. According to the Enid News, “The four were killed when their car was hit head on by another vehicle then collided with a third.” Isaac was planning to attend Liberty University following his volunteer work with Primary Focus, a group that performs at grade school assemblies, emphasizing a “character counts” message.

1 Peter 4:10 says, “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” God touched the life of Isaac King with many gifts, and Isaac lived this verse in every aspect of his life. The most obvious gift was Isaac’s music. The words that follow are also evidence of something greater—how Isaac used the gifts God gave him and how God used Isaac. In his short 20 years, Isaac was a true instrument for Jesus Christ.

  • The Untouchables, part 1

I just met Solomon Darwin and his wife Amy. What they shared with us was so amazing, I wanted to tell you about it too. You see, Solomon's Grandmother was born into the Untouchable Caste in India. The Untouchables are considered the ‘scum of the earth’ in India. They are denied an education and the opportunity for regular jobs.
